    2. MAKE SURE THEY MENTION YOU
      Your referral should provide your name when signing up so we can connect the new account to your competition total. Simply have your referred customer list your name in the “Referral” section of their Sign Up Form submission.

    3. THEY SIGN UP FOR SERVICE
      Sharing information or submitting a referral alone does not count. The person or business you refer must:

      -Complete the Tidewater Compost signup process during September.
      -Pay the required $25 setup fee.
      -Complete the required three-month service agreement.

      Standard referral reward and discount rates still apply.

    4. COMPETE FOR THE TOP SPOT
      Each qualified referral moves you closer to the grand prize. Recruit the most verified qualifying customers by the end of the competition to win!

  • Win Free Residential Composting Service for All of 2027

    The participant with the highest number of verified qualifying referrals will receive one year of free Tidewater Compost residential service during 2027.

    The prize covers the same level of residential service the winner was actively using on September 1, 2026, or, for customers who joined through a qualifying referral during September, the level of service selected at signup.

    Participants must earn at least two qualifying referrals to be eligible for the grand prize.

  • September 1, 2026
    Competition begins. Any customer who signs up for service during September also becomes eligible to participate in the competition for the remainder of the month.

    September 30, 2026
    Last day for qualifying referrals and new participant signups.

    Early October
    The top three participants will be announced based on preliminary referral totals.

    October through December
    Referral verification period. Tidewater Compost will verify that qualifying referrals remain eligible and satisfy all competition requirements.

    Late December
    The official winner will be announced after final verification is complete.

  • A referral qualifies when the referred customer:

    • Signs up for Tidewater Compost service during September 2026.

    • Starts qualifying service at a new service address.

    • Lists you as their referring customer.

    • Pays the required $25 setup fee.

    • Completes the required three-month service agreement.

    Both residential and commercial customer referrals may count toward a participant's total.

    Referral totals displayed during the competition are considered preliminary until final verification has been completed.

    Tidewater Compost reserves the right to verify referrals and determine final eligibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. The referred person or business must sign up for Tidewater Compost service during the competition period and complete the qualifying service commitment.

  • Usually, yes. Contact Tidewater Compost as soon as possible. We may be able to verify the referral with confirmation from both the referring customer and the new customer. Final approval is at Tidewater Compost's discretion.

  • Yes. Customers who begin service during September are eligible to participate in the competition for the remainder of the competition period and may refer additional qualifying customers.

  • Yes. Previous customers may count as qualifying referrals if they reactivate service during September and meet all competition requirements.

  • Yes. Existing Tidewater Compost customers may earn referral credit when starting qualifying service at a different address, provided both service locations remain active throughout the required three-month service commitment. Additional bins or services added to an existing address do not qualify.

  • A referral may be removed from your total if the referred customer cancels, fails to complete payment, or does not fulfill the required service commitment.

  • The top three participants will be announced at the beginning of October based on preliminary referral totals. The official winner will be announced at the end of December after all qualifying referrals have been verified.

  • If two or more participants finish with the same number of verified qualifying referrals, the participant who first reached the final qualifying total will be declared the winner.

  • Yup! Refer your friends/neighbors and as a thank you, both you and your referred subscriber will receive ONE FREE MONTH of compost service.

    The grand prize will be awarded in addition to the standard incentive.
